Staff Members & Bios


Executive Director – Mary Stack

Mary brings to the table 20 years of professional and diverse employment experiences, including work both the New Brunswick Community College and the University of New Brunswick, as well as being the co-founder of The Saint John Multicultural and Newcomer Resource Centre.  Over the last several years, she’s been focused on employment counselling, management, communications, culture, and human resources.  Mary is a life-long learner; she has a Bachelor of Arts (psych/soc double major) and certificates in Human Resources Management and Teaching English as a 2nd Language from UNB and a diploma in Business Information Technology Specialist from NBCC.  Most recently, she achieved the Chartered Professionals of Human Resources designation and, for fun, she continues to try to master a second language….sometimes working on French, sometimes Mandarin and most recently ASL.  Mary’s had opportunities to travel extensively, but Saint John has always been her home and she has strong ties and interests in the community.


Office Coordinator – Crystal Wylie

Crystal has diplomas in Accounting and Payroll Administration from Eastern College and Make Up Artistry from Blanche MacDonald Centre. Crystal is a dedicated employee who has over 20 years experience in office administration with four years focusing in medical office administration. She has a great working knowledge of the Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Crystal can help with building your resume, drafting cover letters, preparing for interviews and other communications. She knows basic American Sign Language, has studied Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and is always looking for new courses and seminars for her professional development.
Here at Options Crystal works as an Administrative Assistant who is creative, reliable and compassionate. In her spare time she enjoys camping, dancing and swimming.


Employment Counsellor – Trudy Garnett

Trudy holds a BA from UNB as well as a Certificate in Choice Theory. She has over twenty years of Employment Counselling experience and has attended numerous workshops covering a diversity of topics including Conflict Management, Leadership Development, Communication Skills, Suicide Intervention, Stress Management & Cultural Sensitivity.
She has worked for several agencies throughout the city including the Y of Greater Saint John where she acted as the Director of the Self Employment Benefit Program for twelve years.
Trudy has extensive experience in assisting clients with implementing effective employment search strategies as well as in case management, group facilitation and helping clients to navigate career transitions while providing ongoing support. She has a genuine interest in and respect for people from all walks of life.
Trudy assists clients with a learning disability to develop a better appreciation of their unique characteristics and how those characteristic relate to career choices.
Trudy loves to read, enjoys weekends with friends and family and is passionate about international travel.


Employment Counsellor – Gail Wentzell

Gail comes to Options Employment Outreach Inc. with over 14 years of Career Counselling experience in the provinces of Nova Scotia and Alberta. She hold diplomas in Business Administration, Programming, Career Practitioner certification from Dalhousie and BA Sociology studies from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax.
She is committed to lifelong learning and her professional development portfolio includes: Emergency First Aid with CPR (Level C), Mental Health First Aid, Suicide Prevention, Introduction to Employment Services (Dalhousie University), Professional Recruiter Certification (RPR), Career Theory Levels 1 & 2, Portfolio Development – Practitioner, Workshop Facilitation, Job Coach, Job Developer, Marketing Diploma, Counselling Level 1 & 2 – Dalhousie University.
She takes pride in helping her clients achieve their potential by learning new skills and discovering their existing strengths and areas for growth.
Gail enjoys international travel, sailing, camping, live music events, reading, current events and spending time with her adult sons and her Pomeranians.
